Planning a warm and energy-efficient future

2 Feb 2026

Embracing modern technologies, the site team at Paul Foster Interiors took the reins at Poppleton Methodist Church to bring the building up to current energy standards and improve accessibility.

Works included a full strip-out of all fixtures and fittings, removing the original sloping timber floor, constructing a new concrete floor with level access to the pavement, installing underfloor heating, air-source heat pumps, solar technology and greatly improved roof insulation which required effectively creating a new roof.

The interior received attractive and durable floor coverings, extensive plaster repair, complete redecoration and the installation of a folding partition.

“Having successfully completed the build of our new community hall, we had confidence when Paul Foster Interiors came in with the most competitive bid for the full refurbishment of the church building to bring it up to current energy standards.

The original features of the chapel have been retained. The team are easy to work with and well organised and the project is on target to be delivered on time.”
